West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is a partner dance that is growing in popularity. WCS can be danced to music across many genres. No partner necessary, come learn and stay for the practice session to work on the skills you learned in class. Be sure to bring a water bottle.

Dates: Thursdays Sept 12 - Nov 21 (10 week session)
(Note: skipping Halloween Thursday 10/31)

Group Class 7:00-8:00pm
Open Practice 8:00-9:00pm
Cost:
Group Class + Open Practice, $30 drop-in or $250 for the 10-week session (register below)
Open Practice only, $10 drop-in per week

Private Lessons available by appointment:
Prepare for your wedding dance, get ready for a special night out, or just learn some moves to help you grove on the dance floor at any social function.
$80 per 45-min lesson
$100 per 1-hour lesson
Prices for single or couple
Semi-Private lessons available at an additional $20 per person

A bit about Sharon:

Sharon Funk began dancing in highschool when she competed on a ballroom dance team. She founded her college ballroom dance team and lead her team to many wins both in individual couples’ placements and team match scores. Sharon has taught:

A crowd of over 100 people in “Dancing Under the Stars” at the Hatch Shell for The Esplanade Association
A “Dinner and Dancing” weekend workshop series at Mount Washington Hotel
Numerous wedding couples as they prepare for their BIG DAY
Various College Ballroom Dance Teams prepare for competition
Social Dancers of all ages
Salsa and Bachata Dance Performance Teams

Sharon believes that anyone can dance! "If you can walk, you can dance, and I will show you how!" Sharon has been teaching ballroom dance for over 20 years and loves bringing the joy of movement to all her students.

Sharon is one of the highest level 19-dance competitors in the country, well versed in all four styles of ballroom dancing. She has studied with many of the top coaches in the U.S., including some of the pros you see on Dancing With the Stars!
